About

What can you expect from working with me?

My name is Keziah Grindeland and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate. My primary areas of focus are anxiety, ADHD, LGBTQ+ identity, navigating early parenting, and trauma/PTSD.

I have found the most important part of therapy, both as a client and as a therapist, is the experience of being fully listened to and heard. I strive to provide a compassionate, curious, and kind space where clients can feel safe to be their full self. I view everyone as an expert of their own story, and my role as a guide who curiously asks clients what they want their story to be. I find immense joy in walking alongside clients as they discover how they can heal and grow and assist in the work of building those new skills. Although I have many tools as a therapist, I enjoy working alongside clients in their journey of healing to discover which ones work best and what tools might be uniquely their own.

As a queer woman, I have found great meaning in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether our work is centered around questions about identity and living in your full self, or not, I strive to make my practice a space where everyone can feel seen and held in their full self.

I find myself the most at home working with individuals, but I am trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist and so I am open to working with couples and families.

In addition to my private practice, I also work as a full time therapist at the YWCA Pierce County. There, I work with survivors of domestic violence and their children in individual, parent/child, and group therapy

Please feel free to reach out and ask me more about anything that I have shared here, or any other questions you might have. I offer 20 minute free consults to help explore if we might be a good fit!

Education

I hold a Bachelor Degree in Religion and Nordic Studies from Luther College, a Master of Arts in Interreligious Studies and Social Justice from Claremont School of Theology, and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University.

The Fun Stuff

When I don't have my therapist hat on, you can find me taking long (but very slow) hikes, knitting, and cooking for my friends and family. I split my time between Southern California and Pacific Northwest, where I grew up

If you have questions about me or my practice, please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consult call to see if we would be a good fit.

My WA State Credential number is MG61462255, and I am supervised by Carolyn Ratley, LMFT.
